The primary consideration when waterproofing a building is of course the waterproofing itself. However the demands made upon your completed system over its lifespan are much more rigorous than just simply keeping out the elements. You need to take into consideration;
Langley has been supplying technological systems to eradicate these problems, and more, for many decades.
By supplying vapour control layers, underlayers and cap sheets, which are compatible, and together, provide the necessary strength and protection. Langley work homogeneously to secure a long life for the finished roof. This is ever more necessary when our own range of thermal insulation (ParaFoam) is included, ensuring the roof meets today’s intensive ‘U’ value requirements.
Aluminium, glass-fibre and polyester reinforcing layers, added to specially formulated SBS bitumen, provides safe, permanent waterproofing. Efficient polyurethane and cork composite rigid insulation panels ensure thermal values are met.
SBS (Styrene Butadine Styrene) is the chosen elastomer for Langley. When mixed with prime bitumen and chosen fillers, SBS gives the finished product an unsurpassed tolerance to the vast temperature extremes encountered at rooftop level. Minimising the rigidity and mobility of a membrane is the key to a long life and nothing does this more effectively than SBS.
Decades of continuing success of resilient high performing bituminous membranes gives today’s specifier the confidence to design single layer systems into their new build and refurbishment contracts. At Langley we have numerous ‘single ply’ options for use in all manner of rooftop situations.
Experience, combined with successful projects, tells us that products up to 5mm thick with high modifications of SBS (Styrene Butadine Styrene) are able to withstand the rigours of thermal and building movement. Polyester reinforcement gives added strength and provides protection against mechanical damage.
The user friendly nature of our systems and the experience of our listed installers put Langley single layer systems amongst the fastest and easiest systems to lay in today’s industry.
A single layer of protection demands foolproof methods of attachment and products with additional features to ensure longevity of the completed roof. Langley are proud to supply systems which have undergone the highest input in research, development and testing.
Today’s environment demands the safest on site methodology. Langley products have the additional option of application via ever more efficient hot-air welders and some of our products are available in self adhesive versions.
In certain situations and in areas of complex detailing, it may be necessary to incorporate a multi-layer approach. Langley's wide range of available products ensures compatibility throughout the system.
As suppliers of the ParaFoam range of roofing insulation boards, Langley are able to provide thermal solutions beneath all single layer systems. Vapour control layers are also available.
